Glitch Controversy – Apple Tracking the iPhone’s Location

Apple admitted the fact of its storing the data (location information). But they commented that the uncovered date files is not the log of the location of the phone, rather it is the Wi-Fi hot spot list along with the location of the cell towers. This will help the cell to locate itself without depending on the GPS satellites.

iphone glitchPhone tracks the location – known to all of us. But what are they doing with the collected data is where the controversy lies! Google and Apple didn’t put any respond the FoxNews . com, who demanded for some additional information regarding the same.

However Apple commented that neither they tracked the iPhone’s location nor having any plan to do so. Then the question is – what about the location data iPhone users are seeing? Well as the Apple states – it’s nothing but the crowd sourced database of the cell towers and the Wi-Fi hotspots.

“This data is not the iPhone’s location data — it is a subset (cache) of the crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower database which is downloaded from Apple into the iPhone to assist the iPhone in rapidly and accurately calculating location,” as the statement explained.

It is just to provide the improved traffic service to the iPhone users in next few years for which Apple is on the track to collect the traffic data and building the traffic database- crowd sourced one (It is totally the same argument Google put forward in 2009).

The company also added their release of the iOS will add a new feather to the protection layer and the cache will also be encrypted.

Will this help internet marketing companies even more? How will iPhone Software developers react to this?

Hoping for the 2nd place in the market for the product that is not even launched is really a audacious dream! I am talking about Sony, who is to launch Tablet and expecting to beat Apple’s iPad… Who is simply ruling the market having the features that are simply BEST!

new sony tablet pcWell, dreams come true too… to check that out you need to wait for its launch and marketing. But before that you can take a look at the features and the “why to choose factor”

- Operating System – it is going to use Google Android 3.0 OS.

- Compatibility – Wi-Fi and 3G/4G compatible. Play station games can be played.

- Tablet names – (Product) – right now Sony is to launch S1 and S2.

- Display – S1 has the screen size of 9.4 inch.

S2 has the screen size of 5.5 inch having a folding option.

Kunimasa Suzuki – deputy president of “consumer products and services” is of the opinion that the sale of S1 and S2 will outweigh the sale of android powered iPad by 4 times. Between 2011 and 2015 they are expecting to get a sale of about 294 million units!

The main difference SONY is claiming is its looks and design. The recent share it holds in the market is 2.1 percent.

The biggest competitor of iPad in the market is no one but SAMSUNG’s GALAXY TAB! But, LG, HTC, MOTOROLA are also playing well, now we need to wait to find it out whether SONY can beat them to get the goal along with the goalkeeper – APPLE!!

Thursday April 28, 2011 – Apple to Launch White iPhone 4 Globally

Promises, Words, Assurances and of course the prolonged waits are finally going to get over on Thursday April 28, 2011… Apple is finally going to launch its white version of iPhone 4.

We all were expecting the launch on last June as promised by Apple, but some of the production issues caused the holdup.

iphone4The newest member of Apple is really stunning having an elegant and graceful look – we are of the same opinion to this with Phil Schiller – Apple’s senior vice president of international product marketing. The expected prices are $199 and $299 for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively.

It was on the news headlines, that in U.S., the phone is going to be the AT&T exclusive, but it’s the Apple who confirmed its availability for Verizon Wireless consumers too.

U.S., U.K., along with other 28 countries is going to be a part of the initial rollout – says the company. Nevertheless Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Korea and eight other nations is running on the track to follow the launch of iPad 2. Though the company thought of the launch in late March, but the outbreak of the tsunami and earthquake earlier the month caused the delay.

Like all others let’s welcome a new wave in the world of technology.

Sidekick 4G Is Better than the Old One – Or is It?

From a recent data of “tech . fortune . cnn . com” I came to know about the launch of the sidekick 4G once more!

iPhone 4G

The iPhone 4G

T-mobile is to launch sidekick 4G! This one is going to start with the Android 2.2 OS. I think sidekicks are much easy to handle in compare to iPhone. Though many prefer touch screens due to its versatility, but you can really not trust them for text out your mates or colleagues. But sidekick is going to provide you with the same 5 row keypad like your keyboard. Like the previous sidekicks that we were using, this will be too of keypad with 5 rows and along with the necessary shortcuts.

But however there are some of the negative effects that has been pointed out by the article like

  • The placement of the buttons, though the idea is not that much bad, however this removed the instant voice search and actions.
  • MyTouch 4G has also been replaced by their own utility of less power.
  • As SAMSUNG and T-MOBILE want the Android OS to operate like the sidekick, the overlay that has been set is quite a crazy one. Everything is in the Sidekick theme now.
  • Getting the Android updates will be a bit difficult in this set.
  • This is presenting a combination of the one dimensional device (10 programs with the most important one in the center) as well as the 2D one (sliding capacity).
  • The most important factor is the hardware problem. The popping of the screen takes a slight long time than the previous sidekick.

So… as per the article, and the quotes “Son can never outweigh Father” … the older version still rules. However technology is moving, so let’s welcome sidekick 4G, let it proof itself coupled with Android OS.

It’s music on the move but how groovy are these car stereos?

Ever since mp3 showed it’s cute little face, the music purchasing habit of the mass changed significantly to downloading digital audio. CD purchases thus witnessed something less than a windfall and in-dash receivers, instead of keeping put a stiff competition against portable digital audio players, accepted integrating USB inputs and iPod connections. Bluetooth solidified the new trend all the more and A2DP stereo streaming is now becoming as common as fries with burgers. Convenience, in the new age, is determined by how no-wire a gadget is and these car stereos do define convenience with a few more additional features.

The first one is JVC El Kameleon KD-AVX44, which brings every digital media connoisseur ample reasons to rejoice. Besides offering DVD/DivX-video and MP3/AAC/WMA playback (you need to plug in your iPod/USB/A2DP Bluetooth device), this is a car stereo that features a design that doesn’t clutter a vehicle’s interior. The new cleanliness comes for about $400; we have yet to see whether the Alpine iDA-X001 beats it, for the full-color display showing album arts and the browsing interface shall release you from the duty of unplugging your iPod every time you want to browse the digital-audio libraries.

However, some have been found supporting the AVN2210p from Eclipse more than the previous two, this one combines an in-dash navigation system with handheld GPS devices. The only thing that may prove to be a downer is the small touch screen display, but given its brightness and well-rendered maps, this great all-in-one device scores better than any other car audio system supporting a wide range of digital-audio formats.

When it’s about gadgets, not mentioning Sony would be a heresy. So here it is, the Sony CDX-GT610UI and the MEX-BT5000, with the first one featuring iPod connectivity and full-speed USB compatibility while the latter boasts of Bluetooth hands-free calling through a built-in microphone and integrated phone controls. If you need to copy the entire address book from your cell phone, you are not going to get anything better than it.
